Description
Pulpo del Norte (Northern Octopus): part of the Viva Mar collection, in collaboration with Viva Mar aquarium in La Serena, Chile.
The octopus is one of the most fascinating creatures in the ocean: three hearts, blue blood (copper instead of iron), neurons distributed in every arm. The Chilean northern octopus (Octopus mimus) inhabits the coast between Arica and central Chile, hidden in cracks and tide pools, waiting with infinite patience. It's the same octopus you find in the seafood markets of northern Chile, in the Mapuche sea-monster legends, in the fishermen's tales from the northern coast.
Octopus in symmetrical composition, hand-illustrated with all the detail of the tentacles and suckers. Hand-pulled screen print on white 100% cotton tee.
Your purchase supports marine conservation: part of every tee sold goes back to Viva Mar for their environmental education programs.
