The Humboldt penguin (Spheniscus humboldti) lives on the coast of Chile and Peru, one of the few penguin species that lives in temperate climates thanks to the cold current that gives it its name — the same Humboldt Current that carries nutrients from Antarctica to the South Pacific and keeps the entire Chilean marine ecosystem alive. It's currently vulnerable: climate change, bycatch, and habitat loss have pushed it to the edge.

The design respects its characteristic silhouette: the white facial patch, the chest with the inverted U-shaped band, that upright pose so distinctly its own. Hand-illustrated, hand-pulled screen print on white 100% cotton tee.
