The humpback whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) is one of the most impressive migrators on the planet: it travels thousands of kilometers between its feeding grounds in Antarctica and its breeding grounds off Ecuador and Colombia, passing through the Chilean coast. Its songs are so complex that biologists study them as if they were language — and in fact males change their melodies season to season.

The design captures that moment when the humpback breaks the surface — the breach. This version goes on a blue tee, the palette closest to the ocean that is its home. Hand-pulled screen print, 100% cotton.
