Description
"The Mummy", the first Karloff. Another from the classic horror series, the 1932 film.
Testing new texturing techniques, always thinking about photogravure work for screen printing.
Imhotep was mummified and buried alive, so I wanted to give it that touch.
Karl Freund's Mummy is one of the strangest films in the Universal catalog: directed by Dracula's cinematographer, almost the entire plot unfolds with Imhotep already awake and passing as human, not as a bandaged mummy walking the halls. The iconic image of the traditional mummy is from the 8-minute prologue. After that it's a 4,000-year obsession story.
Another one in the monster pack.
