Description
Diabla Negra is a design inspired by the symbolism of La Tirana — that northern Chilean festival where Andean ritual and Catholic ceremony fuse into something that belongs to neither. Local resistance creating new forms of representation.
An enigmatic syncretism that carries our roots. This tee was born from my deep fascination with the mix and fusion of codes and cultures that shape our identity.
When I started this drawing I wanted to capture more than just an illustration. Every line is a tribute to the ancestral traditions that refuse to die, to the silent resistance still pulsing in our northern towns. The intertwined serpents aren't random: they represent hidden wisdom, eternal cycles, the transformation that only comes through ritual and hybridization.
This is a living design that's been mutating across formats and colors. The central crowned figure is my interpretation of La Tirana herself: powerful, fearsome, protective. The ornamental elements around her are symbols I've been collecting from my studies of Andean mysticism, each one loaded with meaning for those who know how to read between the lines.
Drawn in graphite and inked by hand line by line. Deep research into Chilean and Andean symbolism. Symmetrical composition chasing that balance of cultural syncretism. Hand-pulled screen print that respects the craft.
